Net (Loss) per Common Share
Basic net earnings (loss) per common share are computed by dividing net income (loss) by the weighted-average number of common shares outstanding during the period. Diluted net earnings (loss) per common share is determined using the weighted average number of common shares outstanding during the period, adjusted for the dilutive effect of common stock equivalents. In periods when losses are reported, the diluted weighted-average number of common shares outstanding excludes common stock equivalen ts because their inclusion would be anti-dilutive. For the years ended June 30, 2016 and June 30, 2015, a net loss was reported and the Company excluded options and outstanding warrants to purchase shares of common stock, as the effect would be anti-dilutive.
